Make wuḍū, pray two units, and sit in quiet dhikr — sadness lifts through connection with Allah.

Lā ilāha illā anta subḥānaka innī kuntu mina ẓ-ẓālimīn

Islamic Insight
Feeling lost is not proof that Allah has abandoned you. It is a call to return. The door of tawbah is always open.
Why Keep a Heart Journal?
The Prophet ﷺ encouraged muḥāsaba — self-accounting of the soul. Imām Al-Ghazālī wrote extensively about examining one's inner state daily. Writing your feelings before Allah is a form of munājāt (private conversation with Allah). It clears the heart, builds self-awareness, and over time reveals your spiritual patterns.
Ibn Al-Qayyim said:
"The heart becomes rusty as iron does — its polish is dhikr."
Today's Prompt
"What in your heart needs healing? Bring it to Allah in words."

Pairing breath with Allah's names transforms a biological act into worship. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'The best dhikr is Lā ilāha illallāh.' (Tirmidhi 3383). This calms the body while anchoring the heart in Allah's remembrance.
Afḍalud-dhikri lā ilāha illallāh
The Prophet ﷺ made istighfar more than 70 times a day despite being sinless (Bukhari 6307). Imam Ahmad Raza Khan ؒ taught that istighfar opens closed doors and removes anxiety. 'Whoever makes istighfar abundantly, Allah will relieve him of every worry.' (Abu Dawud 1518)
Man lazimal-istighfāra jaʿalallāhu lahu min kulli ḍīqin makhrajā
Astaghfirullāhal-ʿaẓīma wa atūbu ilayh
I seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty and I repent to Him

The Qalb
The heart in Islām is not just an organ — it is the seat of faith, intention, and closeness to Allah. Guard it with dhikr, sincerity, and tawbah.
Ṣabr is Not Silence
Ṣabr means to hold firm with dignity — not to suppress. You can feel pain and still have ṣabr. It is endurance with trust, not the denial of feeling.
Anger in the Sunnah
The Prophet ﷺ never struck anyone in anger. He taught us: anger is from Shayṭān — extinguish it with the words of Allah and the coolness of water.
Grief is Honoured
Nabī Yaʿqūb ﷺ wept so much he lost his sight. Allah did not rebuke him. Grief with trust in Allah is not weakness — it is worship.
Tawbah Heals the Heart
No sin is too great for Allah's mercy. Every time you return to Him sincerely, the heart is polished and the soul is renewed.
